The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geologist to join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation in ground investigation and engineering services. Working across a varied project portfolio, you will play a key role delivering and managing site investigation and geotechnical projects from tender through to interpretation and reporting. This role would suit a geologist with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant industry experience looking to take ownership of projects, support junior team members and contribute technically within a growing business.

The Role

  • Planning and managing ground investigation projects
  • Supervising site works including drilling, logging and sampling
  • Factual and interpretative reporting
  • Ground modelling and geotechnical assessment
  • Foundation recommendations and earthworks input
  • Supporting contaminated land and geoenvironmental assessments
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
  • Mentoring junior engineers and geologists
  • Contributing to technical delivery and project management

About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering geology / geotechnical investigation
  • Experience managing and delivering site investigation projects
  • Strong soil and rock logging and interpretative reporting skills
  • Knowledge of geotechnical risk assessment and design principles
  • Client‑facing and project management experience
  • Chartered status or working toward chartership desirable
