A staff requirement for Senior Process Engineer with a North Sea operator client in Aberdeen. Hybrid working available.
Team Lead with line management responsibilities for 1 x Process Engineer and 1 x Production Chemist.
- Ensuring the safe operation of company’s upstream facilities; acting as a process safety ambassador, improving ways of working, and delivering plant changes to manage process safety risks to ALARP.
- Driving greenhouse gas reduction; identifying and implementing initiatives to minimise company’s overall emissions.
- Maximising performance through surveillance, production system optimisation (PSO), increasing production, eliminating waste, and reducing costs.
- Employ adaptive thinking to provide technical solutions to project with complex systems to provide best technical and economically robust solutions.
- Responsible for daily surveillance taking appropriate actions using available tools.
- Responsible for start-up requirements and review of Pre-Commissioning procedures for new and existing equipment.
- Assure a plan is in place to maximise equipment availability.
- Review and facilitation of Management of Change where required.
- Support of medium and long term strategic scopes – management and identification of Threats and Opportunities for the facility.
- Responsible for the application of the Process Engineering discipline performance standards and SECE’s. Approve deviations against SECE Performance Standards.
- Provide assurance on Process Engineering discipline health including Performance Standards and SECE compliance.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven visible personal and process safety leadership behaviours and experience.
- Significant exposure to upstream operations support. This is an operational position, not a project based role.
- Assessed as Process Engineering Technical Authority.
- Demonstrated track record of collaborative behaviours and influencing skills with an outcome focus.
- Able to be the Engineering / Technical Lead in engagements with external parties such as Regulator and key Stakeholders.
- Able to make priority decisions to ensure best outcome for project facility on Safety, Production and Cost.
- Leader of a team of multi-disciplined engineers driving a strong continuous improvement culture.
- Act as a coach and mentor while being proactive in your own talent management and capability development.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Courage to stand up for personal convictions and deliver enterprise first outcomes.
- Ability to prepare and review technical drawings, reports and procedures.
- Experience in risk identification, assessment and mitigation.
- Experience of modelling and simulation using standard software packages.
- Either be a Chartered Chemical Engineer or working towards Chartership.
