The Role
As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in the management and delivery of engineering projects and services. Your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities
- Leading in the design, implementation, and maintenance of transport and countryside infrastructure projects
- Conducting feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical investigations
- Supervising and assisting junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, external partners, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Providing expert engineering advice and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Attending site meetings, public consultations, and stakeholder engagement events
Qualifications & Attributes
- Extensive experience in highway engineering, with a solid understanding of design principles and best practices
- Proficient in the use of engineering design software and tools such as AutoCAD
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects within agreed timescales
