We are seeking a talented and experienced Landscape Planner to join our friendly, established landscape planning team within LUC. With established teams in London, Bristol, Manchester, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Glasgow, our team of nearly 50 landscape planners and managers supports a broad range of projects and an established client base with projects at local, regional and national levels.
Our award‑winning Landscape Planning team is passionate about our environment and we are proud of the positive impact we make. We have an expanding portfolio of challenging and high‑profile projects including the design and assessment of renewable energy projects (onshore and offshore wind, solar and battery storage), routing and assessment of strategically important electricity transmission infrastructure, landscape character and sensitivity assessments and landscape designation reviews, along with research projects for statutory bodies.
The role involves the development and application of strategies, policies and plans to create successful environments, in both urban and rural settings. You will work closely with local authority and private sector clients, operating at a range of contexts and scales, and on all types of development, advising and managing change which may affect the landscape.

The role includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.
The role is based in LUC’s offices in Edinburgh or Glasgow. We work in a hybrid model with people being in the office a minimum of two days per week. There will also be travel required to visit sites, client offices and other office locations.
A full‑time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working, and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part‑time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.
