We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join a major enterprise transformation programme, focused on the development and rollout of APIs across a large, complex Insurance organisation.
This role is ideal for someone who blends strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and is capable of leading API initiatives end-to-end while bringing stakeholders on the journey.
The Role
You will take ownership of a growing API landscape, guiding products from initial concept through to deployment and organisation-wide adoption. Beyond delivery, you’ll play a key role in shaping how APIs are understood, positioned, and successfully embedded across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for API initiatives
- Define and drive product vision, roadmap, and priorities
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design, build, and deploy APIs
- Lead the implementation and adoption of APIs across the business
- Translate technical concepts into clear, business-focused outcomes
- Engage, influence, and align senior stakeholders
- Act as the key interface between technical teams and business units
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Lead in API-led environments
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience building and deploying APIs
- Demonstrated experience leading API implementation and driving adoption
- Background within large, complex (blue-chip) organisations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confident presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining close to delivery
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g. financial services, insurance)
