Project Manager - United Utilities / Civils
A well-established National Tier 2 Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its North West division working on projects across the United Utilities & Cumbria region. The role will lead the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of United Utilities water infrastructure schemes across the region.

Role & Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of multiple water infrastructure projects from pre‑construction through to completion
- Managing site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, Foremen, Operatives, and specialist subcontractors
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to required quality standards
- Developing and maintaining project programmes, resource plans, and cost controls
- Managing procurement of subcontractors, plant, labour, and materials
- Leading progress meetings with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders
- Implementing and enforcing Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures across all sites
- Reviewing RAMS, construction methodologies, and temporary works requirements
- Producing and presenting regular progress reports, forecasts, and commercial updates
- Building strong working relationships with United Utilities representatives and key stakeholders
- Driving performance, productivity, and continuous improvement across the project portfolio
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager on Civil Engineering or Water Infrastructure projects
- Strong background in shaft sinking, micro tunnelling, deep drainage, and reinforced concrete structures
- Experience working on United Utilities or similar water authority frameworks is highly desirable
- SMSTS
- CSCS Black Card
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and programmes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites across the North West region
- Full UK Driving Licence
