Are you a Senior CAD/CAM Programmer looking to take ownership of complex, multi-axis CNC programming in a high‑precision engineering environment working with challenging materials and tight tolerances?
This is a senior, technically focused role within a modern machine shop, where you will be responsible for delivering robust, right‑first‑time CNC programs for 3, 4 and 5‑axis machines. You will support both internal production and external customer projects, contributing to fast‑paced, high‑value manufacturing work.
You will act as a key technical authority on the shop floor, supporting machining teams during prove‑out and production, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement across machining processes. The role offers long‑term stability, excellent facilities, and strong investment in training and career development.
Responsibilities
- Create, optimise and validate CNC programs for 3, 4 and 5‑axis machines
- Develop machining strategies for complex geometries and tight tolerances
- Support production teams during prove‑out, first‑off and production runs
- Troubleshoot machining issues and reduce downtime
- Contribute to continuous improvement and NPI activities
Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer in precision engineering
- Proven multi‑axis CNC programming experience
- Proficient with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, PowerMill, HyperMill, NX or CATIA
- Strong understanding of tooling, machining strategies and GD&T
- Calm, methodical and effective under pressure
