Belfast (Hybrid)Permanent

The Opportunity

Ocho are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a major organisation scaling rapidly across Northern Ireland and the UK, currently investing heavily in a number of large, long-term technology programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Python Web Application Developer to join a team working across high-impact, real-world systems, from backend services and internal platforms to customer-facing applications and integrations.

You’ll be joining at a key time, with a strong project roadmap stretching into 2028, offering real ownership, variety, and the chance to work across a broad and modern tech landscape.

The Role

This is not a narrow role, it’s suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems across the full stack.

You’ll be:

  • Designing and building scalable web applications using Python and/or TypeScript
  • Working across backend services, APIs, and internal tooling
  • Contributing to solution design from user story through to delivery
  • Collaborating closely with BA teams and product stakeholders
  • Building and improving cloud-based systems and services
  • Getting exposure to technologies including React, serverless functions, and integrations
  • Working on large-scale projects with high volumes of user stories and real business impact

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong commercial experience with Python (Django, FastAPI or similar) and TypeScript
  • Experience building web applications and REST APIs
  • Comfortable working from high-level requirements or user stories through to solution design and delivery
  • Ability to break down problems and design practical, scalable solutions
  • Good understanding of cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (and able to explain how they work)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams

Why This Role?

  • Work on major, long-term projects with real scale and complexity
  • Join a growing engineering function with strong backing and investment
  • Get exposure to a wide range of technologies (not siloed into one stack)
  • Opportunity to step into a senior-level role with real ownership
  • Hybrid working with flexibility once embedded

Package

  • Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
  • Hybrid working (Belfast-based preferred) then Remote option
  • Strong long-term progression opportunities
  • Excellent company culture

Why Apply?

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is currently a strong mid-level or emerging senior developer
  • Wants to move into a role with more ownership and variety
  • Enjoys learning new technologies and solving different types of problems
  • Wants to be part of a scaling organisation with major investment and roadmap
