Project Security Manager

Bristol

Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience.

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3-4 days per week on-site; blended approach possible.

Security Clearance: British Citizen (HMG Security Check SC compulsory). DV clearance preferred.

The opportunity

The Security Engineering Department needs a dedicated Project Security Manager to manage and own Project Security activities across multiple units, align with export requirements, and harmonise practices.

Key Responsibilities

Owner of the Project Security Grading Guide(s)

• Secure stakeholder agreement.
• Maintain documents.
• Provide advisory support.

Project Release Approvals Manager

• Coordinate export Red Lines with Engineering.
• Manage MoD approval process for information release.
• Support export approval paperwork.

Project Security Equipment Management

• Coordinate Secure Hardware Register response and application.

Project Security Representative

• Maintain liaison with Security Operations and MoD Customer teams.
• Produce questionnaires and plans.
• Track progress against plans and Aspects Letters.
• Produce secure closure processes.

Cross-project Responsibilities

• Identify cross-project issues.
• Record and share best practices.
• Document lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Strong technical problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Highly organised with ability to distil complex information.
• People and engineering skills; Systems Engineering background useful.
• Knowledge of Product or Systems Security desirable.
