Job Purpose
The GRC Platform Integration & Support Team sits within the M&G plc Non Financial Risk team in the Risk and Compliance function and is responsible for the group’s primary Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) application, Metricstream. MetricStream is used across the organisation to support risk, control and compliance management and reporting. It enables consistent oversight of the Group’s control environment in line with our framework and regulatory requirements, while helping our business meet the expectations of clients, shareholders and regulators.
The GRC Platform Integration & Support Team leads the development, optimisation and governance of the Group’s GRC system, ensuring it supports high‑quality, consistent and efficient risk management.
Responsibilities
The role reports to the Risk Manager GRC Platform Integration and Support. The role holder will support the development, optimisation and governance of the MetricStream system, ensuring it supports high quality, consistent and efficient risk management and aligns seamlessly with the Risk & Compliance Frameworks processes and policies. They will design and provide training/supporting resources to enhance business understanding of MetricStream, and optimise and develop the current support system (Next Think Adopt) that sits on top of MetricStream to provide real‑time user support.
They will provide ongoing support to the business and key stakeholders, including identification and management of impacts and dependencies, troubleshooting issues, addressing knowledge gaps and ensuring all users comply with the latest risk management practices.
They will also act as a subject‑matter expert in the delivery of system changes, customisations and upgrades from a business perspective to support continuous development of the system in line with business needs and the Risk and Compliance Technology & Data strategy. This includes identifying and developing system‑led solutions to business needs or changes in the Risk and Compliance Frameworks.
Key Accountabilities
- Work with key parties to support the development and ongoing improvements of the firm‑wide Risk Framework, Policies and Standards.
- Proactively seek out enhancements and improvements through user engagement and collaboration.
- Lead discrete change initiatives that contribute to the wider change programme.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for issue resolution and change management.
- Design and produce user‑focused supporting resources such as training material and in‑system supporting information through the (Think Next) Adopt platform.
- Support the team in its delivery of critical and key objectives as well as BAU activity.
- Support the change management and maintenance of the GRC system for M&G plc, including system updates, upgrades and changes.
- Assist the team lead in executing and delivering the strategic objectives for the Risk & Compliance function as well as the specific GRC platform strategy.
Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience in a Risk/Audit function/Big4 within a financial institution with a focus on Operational and Non‑Financial Risk and Compliance.
- Recent experience and knowledge of Metricstream at a Financial Services organisation in a Superuser/SME capacity.
Desirable
- Leading end‑to‑end delivery of projects and objectives.
- Strong experience with implementation and ongoing support of a GRC system – MetricStream is our current platform.
- Experience working across multiple functions such as IT, vendors and Risk & Compliance functions.
- Experience working as part of a multi‑location team.
Knowledge Required
Essential
- Knowledge of enterprise GRC systems and their application in financial services.
- Knowledge of Risk Frameworks in a Financial Services organisation.
- Understanding of the components of a Risk Framework.
- Strong knowledge of using Microsoft Office tools such as Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
Desirable
- Understanding of M&G plc products, systems and distribution methods.
- Knowledge of the insurance and asset management sectors.
