Location

Shaston ward, Westminster Memorial Hospital, Shaftesbury

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care to patients, families, and carers, including sub‑acute medical, rehabilitation and palliative/end‑of‑life care in a 15‑bedded ward.
• Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, delivering safe, compassionate and evidence‑based nursing practice.
• Show professional clinical leadership, maintain positive working relationships and support the team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues and organise care activities.

Shift Pattern

• Early – 07:30 to 15:30
• Late – 12:30 to 20:30
• Long Day – 07:30 to 20:30
• Nights – 20:15 to 07:45
• Weekend and public holidays – enhanced pay

Eligibility

Applicants requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are not eligible to apply.

Requirements

• NMC registration.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to undertake one.
• Experience of research or audit.
• Understanding of rehabilitation principles.
• Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the National Service Frameworks.
• Basic computer use for data input and retrieval.
• Participation in staff development programmes.

Disclosure & Barring Service Check

This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. The Trust will cover the cost of the DBS. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of undergoing a new check.

Salary

£32,073 to £39,043 a year (p.a., pro rata for part time)
