Are you a high‑energy fitness professional who believes in the power of sport to change lives? We are looking for a Lead Gym Coach to join a leading Alternative Provision in Burnley. This isn’t your standard commercial gym role. You will be working with young people who have faced challenges in mainstream education, using fitness and physical activity as a tool for engagement, personal growth, and behavioural transformation.

The Role: Leading Through Fitness

  • Program Design: Creating inclusive, engaging, and high‑impact fitness sessions for students with diverse needs (SEMH/ASC).
  • Mentorship: Building strong, positive relationships with students to improve their self‑esteem and emotional resilience.
  • Safety & Management: Taking full ownership of the on‑site gym facility, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Behaviour Support: Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage challenging behaviours using a trauma‑informed approach.
  • Progression: Tracking student engagement and physical progress to contribute to their overall development plans.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Personal Training/Gym Instructing qualification is essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with vulnerable youth, at‑risk learners, or in an SEN/AP setting is highly desirable.
  • Character: You must be resilient, thick‑skinned, and have a genuine desire to mentor young people in Burnley.
  • Adaptability: The ability to pivot a session based on the energy and needs of the students on any given day.
