Intern in Emergency and Critical Care
Salary: £34,610.00 – £39,906.00 per annum.
Location: CMVM / Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies.
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week; fixed‑term 19 months.
Responsibilities
- Assist board‑certified specialists in the Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Service at the Hospital for Small Animals.
- Manage critically ill patients, including triage, diagnostic work‑up and therapeutic interventions.
- Work a mixture of days, evenings, nights and weekends within the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Room.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education, including weekly seminars, practical sessions and journal clubs.
- Collaborate with a mentor on a research project and career progression guidance.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Experience in emergency practice or a rotating internship.
- Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) or eligible at appointment time.
- Appropriate English language qualification.
- Evidence of right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to learn and to function in a dedicated team in a busy hospital setting.
- Eligible for Skilled Worker Sponsorship under the New Entrant Route within the 19‑month contract duration.
