Igne are seeking a Geotechnical Reports Engineer to join the team in Chester-le-Street, Durham. Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in soil and rock logging? Are you looking to transition into a report-focused, office-based role where you can apply your technical expertise in a different way? The role is offered on a full time permanent contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of the GI England & Wales division, contributing to high-quality reporting and interpretation of ground investigation data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Soil and rock logging in compliance with the relevant British Standards/Eurocodes
- Checking incoming driller and engineering exploratory hole records to ensure they are compliant and to a high standard
- Processing and reviewing site data (monitoring, variable head testing, slug testing, groundwater loggers, vibrating wire piezometers, inclinometers readings etc.)
- Correlating exploratory hole records with laboratory testing
- Factual reporting
- Producing and checking AGS data
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive experience of soil and rock logging
- Factual reporting experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word
- Experience in correlating exploratory hole records and geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Knowledge of Openground - desirable
- A degree in Geology of closely related discipline
