About the Role
Manufacturing Engineer at QinetiQ in Boscombe Down, part of the Aviation Engineering Centre. You will contribute to aircraft modification and system developments, ensuring solutions are manufacturable, on time and within budget.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing interests to ensure design concept and final solution is producible on time and on budget.
- Lead the manufacture and assembly of prototypes for functional, static, dynamic, or flight test evaluations.
- Engage heavily with Solution Team, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Team Members to translate requirements into actionable solutions.
- Support a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Work with Technical Leads to ensure project technical outcomes meet project and business needs.
- Support the validation process, undertaking inspections and generating Form 1s or CofCs for manufactured outputs.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable experience of Manufacturing Engineering throughout the engineering lifecycle to deliver solutions within the aviation domain.
- Demonstrable engineering skills, with potential to be assigned as a Production Form 1 signature domain.
- Experience as a team player to develop Engineering solutions that meet defined requirements, on time and on budget.
- Experience in traditional and advanced manufacturing techniques, with the ability to be hands‑on manufacturing in the domain of experience.
Essential Qualifications
- Relevant manufacturing qualification, apprenticeship and experience.
Additional Requirements
Minimum 37 hours per week with a minimum of four days per week on site. Set working times: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm.
