The AWS Cloud infrastructure is built around Regions and Availability Zones (AZs). AWS Regions provide multiple, physically separated and isolated Availability Zones which are connected with low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant networking. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager with proven experience, strong sense of ownership and passion for defining and driving large cross‑functional programs. The candidate should be self‑driven, have the ability to learn quickly and influence decision‑making across organizations. In this position, you will work closely with various Amazon business units to gather, refine and drive program goals including compliance and financial management. You will have the opportunity to implement new processes and procedures driving continuous improvement while interacting with a broad range of stakeholders across Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

In this position, the candidate will work closely with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to manage the compliance and reporting requirements of the global AWS subsea network. The candidate will be responsible for the managing and reporting of our compliance requirements and response, policy development, and compliance training. The candidate will also undertake financial and project management within the subsea engineering team to support the ongoing operations of our in‑service network.

Specific knowledge of submarine cable deployment and operation is looked for, but not a necessity.

A day in the life

Our subsea projects are multi‑year in duration, requiring careful planning, disciplined execution and with a growing program, constant invention and simplification. We work with internal and external stakeholders and partners, driving projects to meet our goals and timelines. We ensure that the delivery of the projects meet our high standards and specifications. When faced with an issue or delay, we invent to solve for the roadblock alerting our customers along the way. Communications are crisp, timely and always advise a path forward. We learn from each other, ensuring global consistency.
