Talentmark is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis for a business based in Cramlington.
The role involves a continental shift pattern of 12‑hour day and night shifts, with every other weekend off.
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) plus benefits.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance of production equipment.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Conduct calibrations and corrections on equipment such as load cells and temperature controllers.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery and supporting equipment.
- Maintain accurate CMMS records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, permits to work, risk assessments, method statements, LOTO, and ATEX.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and apprentices.
Qualifications
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and fault‑finding on PLCs (Siemens preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical circuits and ability to read electrical drawings.
- Experience with AC/DC drives (Siemens and ABB) and bus network systems (Profibus, Profinet) is desirable.
- Knowledge of ATEX zoning and related regulations.
- Effective problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly.
