MTrec is proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Newcastle, who are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full‑time, permanent basis. Shift Pattern
- Continental
- 12x hour shifts (Days/Nights)
Job Duties
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults using wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Troubleshoot PLC systems, specifically Siemens platforms.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks (PPM).
- Install and commission new machinery and equipment.
- Identify, overhaul, and repair faults within mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Support the installation of new machinery and cabling, and update older models.
About You
- Minimum of a time‑served apprenticeship in maintenance engineering to NVQ Level 3 (Electrical bias preferable).
- HNC or above in a relevant discipline (desirable).
- PLC fault‑finding experience (Siemens).
- Experience with electrical cable installations and maintenance.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience is also desirable.
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office.
- Possession of an IPAF licence, MEWP (desirable).
- FLT licence (desirable).
- Able to work both independently and as part of a small team.
