Electrical Maintenance Engineer

MTrec is proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Newcastle, who are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full‑time, permanent basis. Shift Pattern

• Continental
• 12x hour shifts (Days/Nights)

Job Duties

• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults using wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems, specifically Siemens platforms.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks (PPM).
• Install and commission new machinery and equipment.
• Identify, overhaul, and repair faults within mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Support the installation of new machinery and cabling, and update older models.

About You

• Minimum of a time‑served apprenticeship in maintenance engineering to NVQ Level 3 (Electrical bias preferable).
• HNC or above in a relevant discipline (desirable).
• PLC fault‑finding experience (Siemens).
• Experience with electrical cable installations and maintenance.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience is also desirable.
• Computer literate – Microsoft Office.
• Possession of an IPAF licence, MEWP (desirable).
• FLT licence (desirable).
• Able to work both independently and as part of a small team.
