Field Service Engineer
This position reports to the Southeast Manager and is part of the Southeast Field Service Team located in Birmingham, AL. It is a remote role covering the Birmingham metropolitan area and surrounding cities.Responsibilities include ensuring customer satisfaction through increased throughput, decreased downtime, preventive maintenance, and regular upgrades as directed by Beckman Coulter technical staff. You will advocate for customers—both internal and external—and act as a steward for the company.
In This Role
- Servicing Beckman Coulter products at the customer facility.
- Cultivating customer relationships and supporting commercial initiatives.
- Driving a sense of urgency to ensure customer needs are addressed promptly with an emphasis on a “first‑time fix” through the problem‑solving process.
Essential Requirements
- Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, life sciences or equivalent military experience.
- 1+ years of experience problem‑solving, diagnosing, or troubleshooting challenges.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to commute onsite to customer facilities within the assigned territory.
- Overnight travel 25%–60%.
- Ability to occasionally lift, lower, and move up to 50 lbs. (tools, replacement parts, consumables, etc.).
Preferred Experience
- Prior laboratory or field service experience.
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
Benefits
The hourly range for this role is $31.25–$36.05, a range that we believe reflects the possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. This role is also eligible for sales incentive pay. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
