Safeguarding Officer
We are seeking a Safeguarding Officer to join our team in Lincolnshire. This role focuses exclusively on safeguarding adults, working under the leadership of Safeguarding Principal Practitioners and performing statutory duties set out in the Care Act 2014.
- Lead and coordinate safeguarding enquiries relating to adults experiencing or at risk of abuse or neglect, utilising a strength‑based approach.
- Assess and manage risk, ensuring plans are in place to promote wellbeing, safeguard, and support outcomes for people experiencing abuse or neglect.
- Triage safeguarding concerns, maintain the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal and Safeguarding Principles, and keep the adult at the centre of all actions.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals and partner organisations to support effective multi‑agency working.
- Attend appointments across the county, travelling as required to meet the needs of the service.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional Social Work, Nursing or Occupational Therapy qualification with current registration with the relevant professional body.
- Post‑qualifying practice experience and a solid understanding of the adult safeguarding arena, including S42 enquiries, MSP and the Care Act (2014).
- Empowering communication skills and the ability to conduct difficult conversations.
- Sound decision‑making within a risk‑enablement framework.
- Organised and able to manage a fast‑paced, pressurised environment with changing priorities.

The role is part of a county‑wide team based in Sleaford, with the option to hot‑desk or work from home in line with our Smarter Working policy.
