Project Manager – Balance of Plant

Location: Bristol (minimum 3 days per week).

Salary: Circa £80,000, dependent on experience.

The Role

As Project Manager within the Balance of Plant programme, you will lead a high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary team and oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of crucial systems, structures and components across several buildings and contracts within the BOP area.

From engineering through to commissioning, you will ensure excellence at every stage by:

  • Leading multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve seamless delivery.
  • Taking ownership of budgets, schedules, risk management and quality assurance.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to manage complex interfaces smoothly.
  • Applying your technical expertise and leadership to uphold the highest standards of execution and compliance.

About You

You are an experienced Project Professional with a proven track record of delivering large‑scale, complex projects from concept to completion. You blend technical know‑how with strategic insight and excel in:

Engineering & Project Lifecycle – Leading projects from initial design through to commissioning.

Commercial Expertise – Managing high‑value contracts, controlling costs and resolving claims confidently.

Risk & Quality Management – Ensuring operational excellence in high‑pressure, high‑stakes environments.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Background in mechanical, electrical, process systems or civil engineering within large‑scale industrial plant environments.
  • Proven success coordinating multi‑disciplinary design and procurement activities, driving teams to meet key deadlines.
  • Strong grasp of the complexities involved in major projects, particularly in managing interfaces between different scope areas.
  • Experience in project management or project engineering covering the full lifecycle from concept through to handover.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage effectively in both client‑facing and contractor‑facing scenarios.
  • Exceptional communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
