Senior Quantity Surveyor | Salary: £61,000 – £68,000 + £4,700 car allowance

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major highways infrastructure project in Birmingham. This role sits within a high-profile £22m upgrade scheme focused on key improvements along the A45, including road enhancements, new bus infrastructure, and active travel routes.
This is a key commercial role, responsible for leading reporting, managing NEC contracts, and supporting delivery across the project.
This opportunity would suit someone with strong highways or infrastructure experience, who is confident in a client-facing role and capable of leading commercial processes within a project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management & Leadership
- Lead internal and external commercial reporting, including client applications
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the commercial team
- Ensure robust commercial processes are implemented and maintained
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Procurement & Supply Chain
- Support procurement activities across the project lifecycle
- Work closely with supply chain partners to ensure effective delivery
- Assist in managing subcontractor performance and engagement
- Cost Control & Reporting
- Manage project reporting, forecasting, and financial performance
- Ensure accurate and timely commercial submissions to the client
- Monitor project costs and support delivery against financial targets
- Contracts, Risk & Change Management
- Administer NEC contracts, ideally Option C (target cost)
- Manage contractual compliance and documentation
- Support risk, opportunity, and change management processes
- Provide commercial insight to the wider project team
- Project Lifecycle Support
- Support project delivery from mobilisation through to completion
- Maintain accurate records and reporting throughout the lifecycle
- Provide commercial support and guidance to delivery teams
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within highways or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (Option C preferred, other forms considered)
- Excellent commercial reporting and client-facing communication skills
- Ability to lead, mentor, and support a team
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Degree qualified
