SEN Assistant Headteacher (Teaching and Curriculum)
Salary: £57,000 – £69,000 + SEN Allowance + TLR
A highly reputable SEN school in Camberley is looking for an Assistant Headteacher to join their senior leadership team.
This role is ideal for an experienced and ambitious leader who wants to inspire staff, drive high-quality teaching and make a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
You will work closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to shape the school’s vision, lead curriculum development, and ensure outstanding, informed practice across the school.

They have an excellent reputation due to providing their teachers and students with onsite clinical support from SALTs and OTs, increased TAs in classrooms and very small class sizes of 6–8.

About the Assistant Headteacher role
- Provide clear leadership and vision for high-quality teaching across the school
- Promote strong, evidence-informed classroom practice tailored to pupils with SEND
- Model outstanding teaching and maintain a visible presence in classrooms
- Ensure teaching includes clear explanations, effective modelling, and consistent assessment of understanding
- Lead the design and delivery of a coherent, ambitious, and well-sequenced curriculum for pupils aged 7–16
- Ensure curriculum intent reflects statutory requirements, EHCP outcomes, and the school’s vision for learning and independence
- Support subject and pathway leaders to clearly define curriculum intent, sequencing, and outcomes
- Ensure curriculum adaptations enable all pupils to access meaningful learning without lowering expectations
What we are looking for
- Qualified Teacher Status with leadership experience in a specialist provision
- A proven track record of improving teaching, learning, and curriculum outcomes
- Strong understanding of the Ofsted framework and Independent School Standards
- Experience of trauma-informed and inclusive teaching practices
- The ability to inspire, coach, and develop staff at all career stages
- Strategic thinking with integrity and a commitment to whole-school improvement
- Excellent classroom practice and the ability to lead by example
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- A clear commitment to safeguarding, SEND, and improving outcomes for children and young people
