Associate Geotechnical Engineer

Company: BakerHicks

Location: London

Posted: May 2nd, 2026

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Geotechnical Engineer to join BakerHicks, working within an award-winning team delivering across sectors including power distribution, rail, highways and defence. Based in our London office, this role offers the chance to lead and grow a new regional team, shaping our presence in the South.

You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative team that genuinely values fresh thinking and innovation. There is a strong sense of community across the wider group, with regular opportunities to connect beyond project work.

We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer operating at, or ready to step into, Associate level, with a strong background in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering within a design consultancy environment. You will be confident working autonomously from the outset, with the vision and drive to build and develop a high-performing team around you.

You will bring strong technical expertise across core ground engineering disciplines, including desk studies, ground investigation specification, technical reporting, ground modelling, earthworks and foundation design. Commercial awareness and the ability to win and secure work will also be key.

Our projects span the full breadth of the UK, from Shetland to Devon, offering exposure to a diverse range of ground conditions and engineering challenges rather than being confined to a single geological setting.
