Role Overview

We are looking for a Corporate Development and M&A Associate with solid sell- and buy-side transaction experience and strong commercial acumen to join and strengthen the Group’s corporate development and M&A function, focused on energy and infrastructure.

The role offers the opportunity to gain experience across the entire investment and transaction life cycle, from origination and strategic assessment through to execution and post-transaction activities. The role will provide exposure to senior management and will include working with cross-functional teams, including investment and project development, finance and accounting, legal, corporate and project finance, and others. Associates will have the opportunity to lead workstreams with guidance from senior team members as required and independently source and verify information from subsidiaries.


The position provides broad exposure to structuring investment theses and developing buy-side and sell-side business cases across multiple subsidiaries with varying operating models. Other tasks include conducting research across power and energy markets; preparing briefing materials for top management; taking responsibility for corporate presentations; creating and overseeing financial models; overseeing the Due Diligence process; participating in the negotiation of transaction documents; and other activities related to building and maintaining an active group of corporate and strategic stakeholders for the business.

Key Responsibilities

This includes:

  1. screen investors and opportunities;
  2. provide guidance to subsidiaries on business plans and financial modelling for asset and corporate M&A transactions;
  3. review and prepare information packages (teaser, IM, and financial models);
  4. coordinate external advisers on due diligence workstreams and manage the overall due diligence process;
  5. support legal and tax structuring with the respective in-house and external teams;
  6. provide input into transaction documentation drafting and participate in commercial negotiations;
  7. prepare internal decision-making and negotiation-support documents (memos, financial analysis, committee presentations, progress reports, and board presentations); and
  8. manage transaction completion steps.
