Shipping Finance Lawyer (3–6 PQE) | London | International Firm
An opportunity has arisen for a mid-level associate (3–6 PQE) to join a leading international shipping practice in London.
This globally recognised team advises across the full shipping lifecycle and all major maritime sectors, acting for a diverse client base including shipowners, financial institutions, alternative lenders, investors, insurers and commodities traders.
The Role
You will join a high-performing transactional shipping team, advising on a broad range of domestic and cross-border matters. The role offers strong exposure to complex, high-value transactions and early responsibility.
Key areas of work include:
- Ship finance transactions
- Ship sale & purchase
- Shipbuilding contracts
- Ownership and vessel registration structures
- Restructurings and workouts
- Bareboat charters and sale & leasebacks
- Long-term charter arrangements and pooling agreements
- Ship management and operational matters
- Recycling and related regulatory issues
There will also be the opportunity to support on high-end yacht transactions and collaborate closely with corporate teams on associated commercial agreements.
About You
- England & Wales qualified with 3–6 years’ PQE
- Strong experience in transactional shipping or shipping finance
- Excellent drafting and transaction management skills
- Commercially minded with strong client engagement ability
- Confident managing matters and working directly with clients
- Keen to develop within a top-tier international practice
