A leading national strategic land promoter is looking to appoint a senior Planning Manager to play a key role in driving forward a portfolio of complex, large-scale residential and mixed-use projects across the UK.
This is a high-impact position suited to an experienced planner who thrives on development management, project leadership, and navigating challenging planning environments.
The Role
You will take ownership of strategically important sites, managing them through the planning system and unlocking value through promotion and delivery. Working closely with land, technical, and commercial teams, you’ll be central to shaping planning strategies and securing permissions on complex schemes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the planning and development management process on major strategic sites
- Preparing and executing planning strategies for complex and often contentious projects
- Managing planning applications, appeals, and stakeholder engagement
- Coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams
- Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and landowners at a senior level
- Supporting land acquisition teams with planning advice and due diligence
About You
- MRTPI qualified (or equivalent)
- Significant experience in strategic land, housebuilding, or consultancy
- Strong track record delivering complex planning permissions
- Deep understanding of the UK planning system and development process
- Commercially aware, with the ability to balance planning risk and land value
- Confident communicator, capable of operating at senior stakeholder level
