Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location. Indicative range: $95,000 – $160,000 (USD equivalent), plus benefits.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Java Developer to build and maintain enterprise-grade backend services. The role works on systems that need to be reliable, performant, and well-designed — and partners with the wider engineering org on architecture and execution.
Key Responsibilities
– Design and develop backend services in Java and the Spring ecosystem
– Build RESTful APIs that integrate with internal and external systems
– Optimise performance and ensure scalability of services
– Conduct code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions
– Diagnose and resolve production issues
– Partner with QA, DevOps, and product on delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications
– 3+ years building production Java applications
– Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem
– Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)
– Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus
– Comfort with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerisation
– Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and system design
