Role Overview

You will be responsible for building and supporting advanced electro-mechanical systems used within marine navigation equipment. The position involves assembling, modifying, and testing complex radar-related units, as well as contributing to the improvement of production processes and documentation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test electro-mechanical components and systems, ensuring a high level of quality and reliability.
  • Carry out repair and modification work where required.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, schematics, written procedures, and verbal instructions.
  • Perform detailed tasks such as soldering, wiring, crimping, and mechanical adjustments (cutting, drilling, filing, etc.).
  • Conduct fine rework on circuit boards and apply bonding materials or sealants when needed.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality, identifying and resolving faults proactively.
  • Support the development and updating of standard operating procedures and documentation.
  • Log and report defects using internal systems.
  • Use company software to access and input operational data.
  • Work collaboratively within a team, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with company standards.
  • Assist with additional tasks as required to support production activities.


Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a production, manufacturing, or engineering setting.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with good numerical and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and reliable approach to work.
  • Comfortable using computers, including standard office software.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with structured manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to radar or similar electronic systems.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain active throughout the working day, including standing and moving between tasks.
  • Comfortable with regular manual handling and light lifting.

  • On-site in North London working on a shift pattern Mon-Fri
