Are you a commercially driven marketing leader who wants to shape how world-leading scientific companies go to market? We’re looking for an Account Director to lead one of our delivery teams at Notch Communications, a specialist B2B marketing and advertising agency serving science and technology companies globally.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of client relationships, their commercial marketing performance, and the quality of everything your team delivers. This is a role for someone who wants to shape a team and raise the bar, not just keep things ticking over.

As an Account Director, you will:

  • Own the client relationships and commercial performance across your portfolio, including budgets, profitability, and strategic growth plans
  • Lead and develop one of our delivery teams, setting the standard for how your team plans, executes, and delivers client work
  • Drive account growth by identifying opportunities, leading proposals, and having the commercial conversations that turn good relationships into bigger partnerships
  • Work alongside other senior leaders to continually raise the standard of delivery across the agency, with a healthy competitive drive to get the best from every team
  • Mentor and develop your team of account managers, writers, strategists, and creatives, creating the conditions for people to do their best work
  • Contribute to new business through pitches, proposals, and the strength of your client relationships and industry network
  • Proactively look for opportunities to drive efficiency and quality through better collaboration from within your team and in the wider agency

From an Account Director we expect:

  • A strong track record in B2B marketing, with demonstrable experience managing client accounts at a senior level, either client-side within life sciences, pharma, speciality chemicals, or B2B technology, or in an agency serving those sectors. Experience on both sides is ideal
  • Previous ownership of senior client relationships, including financial management of accounts (forecasting, budgeting, and profitability), and the strategic development of client partnerships
  • Commercial confidence and a sales-oriented mindset. You are someone who identifies growth, pursues it, and is not afraid to have the difficult conversations that move things forward
  • Experience leading and developing delivery teams, including building team culture, managing performance, and creating an environment of high integrity and collaboration
  • Comfort working in scientific and technical industries. You do not need to be a scientist, but you need to find the world of science, innovation, and technology genuinely interesting and be credible in conversations with clients whose businesses are built on it
  • A proactive and forward-thinking approach to how you work. Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, and familiarity with developments such as GEO and AI-driven marketing approaches, is advantageous
