Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading South Yorkshire based client to recruit for a Purchasing Manager.
The role:
You will be responsible for managing both the current and future needs the Purchasing department.
You will be charged with:
- Managing, supporting, and coaching of the team
- Negotiation of all current and new purchasing contracts
- Develop and maintain a supply base globally
- Select new suppliers based on factors including cost and suitability/competence to supply
- Re-tender of all current and new commodities
- Align all material management processes
Skills and Experience
- Previous Purchasing experience at a senior level to include a solid understanding of Steel, Fabrications and Machined commodities
- Previous experience in managing a team
- Ability to travel globally should the need arise
- An understanding of lean manufacturing
