The Role
As an Internal Auditor, you’ll plan and deliver end-to-end audit assignments across a wide range of council services, from financial and operational audits to governance and risk reviews. You’ll produce clear, well-evidenced reports and work closely with managers across the organisation to drive improvements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Planning and executing risk-based internal audit assignments from start to finish
- Identifying control weaknesses and making practical, value-adding recommendations
- Preparing clear and concise audit reports for management and senior stakeholders
- Following up on agreed actions to ensure recommendations are implemented
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture
What We’re Looking For
- Part or fully qualified (CCAB / CMIIA / IIA) or studying towards a relevant qualification
- Experience conducting internal audits, ideally within the public sector
- Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and a methodical approach
- Confident communicator, able to build rapport with colleagues at all levels
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
