This is an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Motor Portfolio team as a Senior Motor Fleet Portfolio Underwriter.
You will play a key role in delivering strong portfolio performance through technically robust underwriting, data‑led decision making and effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
You’ll participate in the Allianz Global P&C Academy, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Allianz Insurance supports professional qualifications, such as IFoA and CII, where considered appropriate for the business and the individual.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Guildford office (2‑3 days per week).
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £55,000 per year, based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- Act as a trusted technical partner to regional trading teams, supporting case referrals and providing expert underwriting guidance.
- Collaborate closely with pricing, portfolio steering, claims and actuarial teams to deliver informed underwriting input.
- Play a key role in shaping and delivering strategic activity across the motor fleet portfolio.
- Contribute to the development of underwriting strategy and policy wordings to support sustainable growth within the motor fleet book.
- Support the development of junior colleagues through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience in Motor Fleet underwriting, with the capability to manage complex and high‑value risks.
- Confidence and capability to coach, develop and support colleagues, acting as a technical referral point within the team.
- Proven experience in owning and managing key broker relationships, including large and complex case management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships and work collaboratively across the business.
Desirable Skills
- ACII Qualified or progressing towards.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
