We’re recruiting experienced Advanced Practitioners to join a busy but supportive Children’s Services team, working across the full safeguarding journey — from assessment through to permanence.

The Role

As an Advanced Practitioner, you’ll manage a complex and varied caseload covering the full spectrum of statutory work:

  • Child & Family Assessments
  • Child in Need (CIN)
  • Child Protection (CP)
  • Care Proceedings through to permanence

You’ll act as a lead worker on more complex cases, supporting best practice across the team while continuing to deliver high-quality direct work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload across assessment, safeguarding, and court work
  • Lead on complex cases, working alongside other Social Workers
  • Undertake high-quality assessments and care planning
  • Practice using a restorative, relationship-based approach
  • Engage directly with children using child-centred practice
  • Promote family-led decision making to reduce risk and improve outcomes
  • Produce clear, analytical, and high-standard written workWork collaboratively within a busy, supportive team environment
  • Contribute to team learning and development culture

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Significant experience within Children’s Safeguarding teams
  • Strong background across CIN, CP, and court work
  • Confident managing complex cases as lead practitioner
  • Excellent analytical and assessment skills
  • High standard of report writing and case recording
  • Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong relationship-building skills with children and families
