Job Overview
Our client, based in the East Cheshire area, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer for a permanent position. The role offers a salary of £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, and requires Monday to Friday work from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with potential flexible hours to accommodate traffic. The job is commutable from Crewe, Middlewich, Holmes Chapel, Congleton, Macclesfield, Leek, Northwich, Knutsford, Biddulph, Newcastle‑under‑Lymne and North Stoke areas.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and review client specifications, drawings, and analyse results from product tests to ensure proposals meet client requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and produce proposal documents for client presentation.
- Collaborate closely with clients and in‑house design/production staff to jointly manage client requirements.
- Handle all project documentation, site surveys, and commissioning activities within the UK.
- Make occasional site visits (approximately 3‑6 times a year) to discuss progress and update clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical or process engineering environments.
- Experience with food or chemical process equipment and control systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings produced on SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and equipment interaction.
Desirable
- Contract management experience and good commercial awareness.
