We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical background for a polythene bag manufacturer producing a wide range of polythene film and bags.
The successful candidate will ideally have attended an Industrial Electrical Course and be certified to the 17th edition electrical course.
This position is for a regular day shift (7am to 7pm), Monday through Friday. The successful applicant is expected to live in the West London area.
Summary
The person will be responsible for maintenance and repair of blown film extrusion and conversion machineries. They may also be trained to run extrusion/conversion machines as an operator when required.
Skills & Knowledge
- Remove, install & set up new inverter
- Read and understand electrical circuit diagram
- Fault‑find electrical circuits without diagram
- Understand AC/DC motor control
- Understand tension control (load cell, dancers)
- Self‑motivated, flexible, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Communicate at all levels
Salary & Benefits
Hourly rate £7.50‑£10.00 per hour, according to experience. Expected total yearly earnings £24,000‑£28,000. After six months the candidate will be eligible to join the Company contributory pension scheme.
Education & Experience
- Diploma/certificate level education or completed an appropriate engineering apprenticeship for an electrical biased engineer, including qualification in the 17th edition electrical course
- No experience required; hands‑on knowledge of extrusion & conversion machinery maintenance is an advantage
