Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Shop Supervisor who will take a proactive and dedicated approach to the role. You will be responsible for the day to day operations of our retail properties. This is a key leadership position responsible for operational efficiency, superior customer service, staff performance management and supporting continued business growth.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership, organisational and communication abilities with a hands‑on approach to retail operations. Full training will be given.

Main Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily retail staff activities
• Adhere to company rules, procedures and health & safety standards
• Provide outstanding customer service and handle any client issues or complaints in a professional manner
• Keep the retail atmosphere clean, orderly and adequately supplied
• Monitor sales results and develop plans to meet or exceed objectives
• Order stock from approved vendors in a timely manner at competitive rates
• Purchase supplies from local cash and carry businesses as and when needed
• Create and implement in‑store promotional activities to boost consumer engagement and sales
• Maximise earnings and limit product waste with optimised pricing
• Process daily cash banking and make timely payments to vendors and staff
• Recruiting, training and supporting new team members
• Prepare and maintain worker rotas; offer regular performance feedback
• Reporting to directors on a daily basis regarding sales, purchases, wastage and general shop operations
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance productivity and overall efficiency

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or retail management position
• Strong team management and leadership abilities
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to perform in a fast‑paced retail setting under pressure
• Commercial awareness and operational attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of IT and accounting
• Practical, flexible and customer‑oriented mindset

Hours of Working

8 hour shifts. Flexibility may be needed to suit commercial needs.
