Construction Disputes Associate (3–6 PQE) | London | International Arbitration

We are working on an exciting opportunity with a leading international disputes boutique, seeking a Construction Disputes Associate (3–6 PQE) to join its London team.

This role offers the chance to work on high-value, complex international arbitration matters, with a strong focus on infrastructure and major projects disputes involving parties across multiple jurisdictions.

The Role

You will work closely with partners and colleagues on cutting-edge disputes, with responsibilities including:

  • Developing case theory and strategy alongside senior team members
  • Taking a lead role in drafting written submissions and managing junior lawyers
  • Overseeing research and document review processes
  • Assisting with witness and expert evidence preparation
  • Liaising directly with clients, experts, tribunals, and opposing counsel
  • Supporting business development initiatives (publications, briefings, conferences)

Candidate Profile

  • England & Wales qualified
  • 3–6 years’ experience in international arbitration (commercial and/or investment)
  • Strong academic background
  • Experience in construction disputes, particularly delay, quantum, technical issues (highly advantageous)
  • Exposure to sectors such as infrastructure, energy, mining, or engineering (preferred)
  • Additional language skills are beneficial

Key Skills

  • Excellent drafting skills with clarity and persuasion
  • Strong analytical ability across complex legal and factual issues
  • Solid understanding of arbitration law and procedure
  • Ability to manage matters efficiently and work collaboratively
  • Confident communicator with clients and tribunals
