Overview
We are seeking two Grade 3 Sample Registration Coordinators to join the Operational Support team at the Monitoring Laboratories’ Starcross Site. The position is a fixed‑term contract of 6 months with a weekly hours commitment of 37 hours.
Working Patterns
Choose between two options: Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday, each starting at 06:00.
Key Responsibilities
- Register samples received from the Environment Agency and external customers into the laboratory system.
- Support laboratory teams to deliver their analysis programmes, ensuring registration accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with Customer Services, Facilities and Bottle Dispatch colleagues to achieve shared outcomes.
- Troubleshoot registration issues and apply knowledge to resolve them.
- Promote health, safety and wellbeing, ensuring safe working practices in line with Environment Agency guidance.
- Assist with laboratory pollution incident response when required.
- Provide support and supervision to Operational Support team members in cooperation with other supervisors.
- Use standard IT packages efficiently and learn specialised systems as required.
- Promote inclusion, respecting differences and building a supportive workplace.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
- Understanding of laboratory quality control procedures and the impact of pollution monitoring.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
- Strong organisational skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Customer‑focused, detail-oriented and problem‑solver who can work independently and as part of a team.

Fixed‑term contract of 6 months, 37 hours per week.
