A multinational food manufacturer, which is home to some of the most loved brands in Britain, has a key opening within its in‑house packaging division.
Directing and implementing our client’s research and development policies, objectives and initiatives, the fundamental aim of this R&D Packaging Director role will be to ensure activities maintain a competitive position and profitability through the development of new packaging solutions and the improvement of existing ones. The role includes consulting with top management, managing six direct reports and making recommendations based on research findings and product performance.
Lead the research and development of packaging solutions, ensuring they meet market demand and consumer needs.
Develop and maintain product packaging strategies for a large FMCG company.
Manage a team of six direct reports, providing technical and managerial guidance.
Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver project outcomes.
Drive sustainability best practices across packaging initiatives.
Travel frequently to client sites across the UK and internationally as required.
Minimum of 15 years' packaging technology and development experience within a large FMCG company.
Strong technical and analytical problem‑solving skills.
Proven experience in man‑management and leadership of technical teams.
Demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement experience.
In-depth knowledge of driving sustainability and best practices in packaging.
