Apply for the Customer Development Manager (Account Executive)
Location: London
Job Description:

This is a four day week role. You’ll be working qualified, booked meetings from day one — our SDR team and marketing engine handle the top of funnel, so you can focus entirely on running great sales cycles and closing deals.

£43,738 base | £62,483 OTE | Equity included

About the role

Beacon is the top-rated charity CRM in the UK — 4.9/5 in Fundraising Magazine’s annual CRM survey, a close rate above 50%, and over 1,500 charities trusting us to run their core operations. We’re profitable, founder-owned, and growing — and we’re looking for a Customer Development Manager to join our expanding sales team.

You’ll own the full sales cycle for small to medium-sized charities evaluating Beacon as their CRM. This isn’t a role where you’re building pipeline from scratch — we have a well-established inbound engine and a strong outbound SDR team generating qualified opportunities. Your job is to run high-velocity, well-structured sales cycles and close them.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading complex, multi-stakeholder discovery calls to uncover deep business pain and urgency
  • Qualifying incoming leads using BANT to protect your time and determine the best evaluation path
  • Delivering highly tailored product demonstrations that map Beacon’s capabilities directly to each charity’s needs and commercial outcomes
  • Taking control of the sales process and guiding prospects through their buying journey with confidence
  • Handling objections with credibility and maintaining constructive tension throughout the deal
  • Managing your pipeline with discipline and forecasting accurately using structured frameworks including MEDDIC
  • Building strong relationships with Beacon’s implementation partner network
  • Consistently meeting and exceeding your revenue targets

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in a quota-carrying B2B SaaS or technical sales role
  • A proven track record of consistently hitting and exceeding revenue targets, with a clear grasp of your own conversion metrics and deal velocity
  • Formal training or strong practical experience in structured sales methodologies — Sandler, Challenger, or MEDDIC
  • Commercially driven with a strong sense of ownership over your pipeline, your forecasting, and your own development
  • The ability to discuss budget and timelines early and push back on unrealistic demands without losing the relationship
  • A genuine interest in the charity sector and the ability to quickly understand how different organisations operate
  • A friendly, confident demeanour — our customers are charities, and part of what makes Beacon stand out is that we’re smart, warm humans who know how to build real trust
  • The ability to support your teammates — sharing what’s working, whether that’s an email template, an objection handle, or a call debrief
  • Flawless written English and the ability to write compelling, well-structured proposals
  • Experience selling CRM, completing RFPs, or working in the charity sector would be a bonus

Benefits

  • Four day work week — every week
  • EMI-qualifying share options
  • 6 weeks holiday per year plus bank holidays
  • £60 bonus for every day of holiday you actually take
  • 6 week fully paid sabbatical after 5 years
  • 150% pension matching (up to 10%)
  • Private health insurance including dental and optical
  • 12 weeks fully paid parental leave, regardless of circumstances
  • Guaranteed annual pay rise in line with inflation
  • Banded, transparent salary system — everyone doing the same job earns the same
  • Cycle to work scheme
