Role Overview

You will be part of the County Attendance Team, supporting the Schools, Children Missing Education and Elective Home Education programmes and ensuring statutory compliance and best practice delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and send high‑quality letters, emails and penalty notices by defined deadlines.
- Respond to general attendance enquiries and field calls, providing excellent customer service.
- Manage team inboxes, actioning or distributing emails as required.
- Maintain accurate and GDPR‑compliant records.
- Assist colleagues with content updates to the County Attendance Team websites.
- Plan, recruit and organise meetings, ensuring realistic timing and venue.
- Attend meetings, take accurate minutes and distribute them promptly.
- Provide specialist administration support to enable the team to monitor and improve attendance outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience

- Knowledge of school attendance legislation, policy, procedure and practice.

- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the Internet.
- Experience handling data, statistics and retrieving information from ICT record systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including telephone and email.
- Ability to handle challenging and emotional situations with customers.
- Flexible, initiative‑driven, and able to manage change.
