About the Role

 We are looking for a friendly and reliable Catering Van Assistant to join our hospitality team, supporting the day-to-day operation of our catering van across school sites.

Working alongside the Chef and wider hospitality team, you will help prepare and serve food and beverages to agreed standards, ensuring a smooth, efficient and welcoming service for pupils, staff and visitors.

 You will support food preparation, service delivery, stock handling and general kitchen duties, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across all service areas. In this hands-on role, you will assist with setting up service equipment and displays, receiving and storing deliveries, rotating and labelling stock correctly, and ensuring allergen and food safety procedures are followed at all times. You will help keep the catering van clean, organised and well-presented, including preparing it for events or themed activities when required.

 You will provide polite, professional and friendly customer service, respond positively to requests and communicate any feedback, shortages or issues promptly to the line manager.

 You will work collaboratively with colleagues to support efficient service delivery, follow cash handling and security procedures where required, and operate equipment safely and responsibly.

 This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced food service environment, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and values being part of a supportive team

Occasional weekend working required with advance notice.
