An opportunity has arisen in the Community CAMHS
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) is offering an exciting opportunity for Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our forward thinking Children and Young People & Families (CYPF) Directorate. These posts span three distinct consultant roles, offering varied and rewarding career pathways within a large, innovative, and values driven NHS Trust.
Our CYPF services cover a diverse geography across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and surrounding areas, with bases in Cambridge, Huntingdon, and Peterborough, and strong integration with community paediatrics and therapy services. CPFT is committed to compassionate, evidence based care, strong clinical leadership, and meaningful multidisciplinary working.
We are recruiting complementary consultant roles, allowing applicants to align their expertise and interests with a service that best fits their professional goals:
Crisis and Tier 4 Consultant Psychiatrist
This innovative role integrates crisis assessment, intensive home treatment, and Tier 4 care currently provided at the Darwin centre, supporting children and young people presenting in acute mental health crisis. The post holder provides consultant leadership to crisis services, delivers urgent assessments across acute hospitals and community settings (including Mental Health Act work), and supports pathways into and out of inpatient care. The role offers varied clinical work, system leadership, and the chance to shape crisis provision in line with national priorities and the NHS long term plan.
The role may suit newly appointed or experienced consultants seeking portfolio careers, specialist development, or leadership opportunities within children and young people’s mental health.
