DEBT RECOVERY SOLICITOR - NEWCASTLE

A leading law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Debt and Asset Recovery Litigation Solicitor to join its busy Newcastle office. The team is known for delivering high-quality legal services to major and innovative clients across the financial services sector.

This role is ideally suited to solicitors with 4+ years' PQE seeking to take the next step in their career within a dynamic and growing practice area. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of unsecured debt recovery matters, advising financial institution clients and driving cases through litigation, negotiation, and enforcement.

The position offers the chance to take on meaningful responsibility from the outset, combining hands‑on case management with strategic input. There is also a strong emphasis on mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the continued expansion and success of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a high-volume caseload of unsecured debt recovery matters
• Delivering strategic, commercially focused legal advice to financial institution clients
• Progressing cases through litigation, negotiation, and enforcement
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
• Contributing to team development and wider business growth initiatives

Candidate Profile

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 4+ years' PQE
• Strong experience in litigation and debt recovery
• Solid understanding of unsecured debt recovery processes
• Proven ability to manage caseloads efficiently and effectively
• Confident communicator with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Commercially aware with a client‑focused approach
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Desirable Experience

• Experience acting for financial institutions or lenders
• Knowledge of enforcement procedures and insolvency processes
