An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Property Development Solicitor to join my client’s team in their Reading, Berkshire offices on a hybrid basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join my client’s Development & House Building team. You will be assisting fee earners on transactional matters and working collaboratively on a variety of development related transactions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supporting fee earners with drafting option agreements, deeds, and contracts.
- Undertaking due diligence and preparing reports.
- Assisting with acquisitions and disposals of development land, plot sales, planning, and construction matters.
- Supporting secured acquisition and development finance transactions.
- Learning about and contributing to processes and documents for plot sales.
- Training seminars and workshop programmes for employer clients.
- Communicating with team members, clients, and third parties involved in transactions.
- Developing knowledge of the planning system and its implications for development transactions.
- Participating in business development activities and building relationships within the development community.
- Identifying risks and concerns, and proposing practical and commercial solutions.
Skills, Attributes & Experience
- Some experience and an interest in development transactions is required.
- Strong drafting skills, verbal and written communication skills.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to break down complex tasks into manageable components.
- Enthusiasm to learn, ask questions, and share opinions.
- A practical and commercial mindset, with resourcefulness and a strong work ethic.
- You must also be able to apply the law with a degree of commerciality and be prepared to give your viewpoint to clients.
- Willingness to engage in marketing and business development activities.
