Role Overview
As a Supply Chain Lead within the Procurement team, you will architect and scale the operational procurement function for our non‑horticultural product range, building systems that support rapid growth and ensure flawless inventory availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale the stock‑planning strategy from scratch, turning rapid business growth into a high‑performing operational machine.
- Lead the team to maintain optimal stock levels across all sites, balancing high availability with reduced waste and holding costs through close collaboration with Warehouse teams and Strategic Procurement Managers.
- Design and automate scalable supply‑chain and inventory tools, and develop AI workflows to eliminate manual data entry and calculation tasks.
- Develop standardised processes and frameworks, leading weekly KPI reviews to shift the function from reactive problem‑solving to proactive inventory and risk management.
- Mentor and coach a team of stock planners, transitioning them from manual execution to analytical decision‑making and building internal succession and resilience.
- Ensure the operational infrastructure can handle increased SKU counts by collaborating with commercial teams to right‑size inventory, protect availability during peak periods, and manage excess stock through third‑party relationships.
- Provide on‑call support when required to maintain continuity during peak times or operational issues.
- Manage performance of third‑party partners against agreed SLA terms.
- Build internal operational performance reporting, supplier tiering and initiatives to improve supplier performance.

- Strong system‑building skills using G‑Suite and other platforms, with experience leveraging AI to drive impact.
- Effective coaching and mentorship abilities, fostering a performance culture centred on accountability and ownership.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a history of identifying system limitations and implementing feedback loops.
- Hands‑on, proactive approach, ready to contribute directly to operational tasks and cover gaps during peak periods or illness.
- Commercially and data‑driven, focused on protecting margins, eliminating P&L leakage and optimising working capital.
