Trustee Treasurer – Role Summary
Link UP London is seeking a strategic and values-driven Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. This role goes beyond number-crunching. The Treasurer will help shape the future of Link UP London by overseeing financial governance while contributing to the wider strategic direction of the organization.
Treasurer Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight – Monitor the financial health of the organization, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Input – Work with the Board and CEO to shape financial strategy, contribute to long‑term planning, and assess the financial viability of new opportunities.
- Governance & Risk Management – Ensure robust financial controls, risk management processes, and reporting mechanisms are in place and fit for purpose.
- Budgeting & Planning – Engage with the annual budgeting process with CEO and finance manager and regularly monitor financial performance.
- Support the CEO – Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO on financial sustainability, funding models, and business development.

- Strategic thinker who sees finance as a tool to advance social impact.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to explain financial matters to a non-financial audience.
- Committed to transparency, collaboration, and good governance.
Experience
- Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent financial leadership experience.
- Experience with charity finance, social enterprise models, or funding environments a plus.
- Understanding of trustee responsibilities and the UK charity sector a plus.
Term
3 years (renewable up to 3 terms)
Remuneration
This is a voluntary role. Reasonable expenses, including travel, will be reimbursed.
Time Commitment
- 8‑10 x 1‑hour Board meetings per year (currently remote – to be reviewed).
- 1–2 in‑person strategic away days per year.
- Quarterly review of financial statements.
- Ad hoc support to the CEO and team on financial or strategic matters as required.
