We are working with a well-established asset manager to appoint an Investment Tax professional into a front‑office focused role. This position sits within the in‑house tax team and plays a key role in providing tax advisory support to investment and portfolio management teams across a range of asset classes and strategies.
The role is primarily advisory in nature, acting as a trusted tax partner to the investment function, with involvement across structuring, transactions, product development, and lifecycle events. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with commercial stakeholders and influencing investment outcomes.
The role
- Providing proactive tax advice to investment teams on proposed investments, asset acquisitions, disposals, and restructurings.
- Advising on fund structures, investment vehicles, and holding structures from a tax perspective.
- Supporting the tax analysis of new strategies, products, and jurisdictions.
- Supporting responses to investor queries on tax matters alongside investor relations where required.
- Acting as a key tax contact for front office teams, translating complex tax issues into clear, commercial guidance.
- Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across investments, legal, finance, risk, and compliance.
- Managing and coordinating external tax advisors across UK and international matters.
- Keeping abreast of legislative and market developments impacting the asset management and investment landscape.
- Working closely with the broader in‑house tax team, including those responsible for compliance and reporting, to ensure clarity and consistency.
What we are looking for
- Strong background in investment or corporate tax, gained in practice or in‑house (asset management, funds, or financial services preferred).
- Proven experience providing tax advisory support on investments, transactions, or structuring.
- Comfortable working directly with front office stakeholders in a fast‑paced, commercial environment.
- Ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to non‑tax professionals.
- Professional qualification preferred (CTA, ACA, or equivalent).
